Prof Olusoga A Sofola, BSc, MSc, MB.BS (Lagos), PhD (Leeds) teaches physiology at the College of Medicine of the University of Lagos, Nigeria, since 1973. In addition to teaching Medical and Dental students, he also teaches honours and post-graduate students in Physiology. He has been visiting scientist/professor to UAE University, Texas Southern University, USA and Visiting British Heart Foundation Fellow to University of Leeds, UK.  He was Provost (Dean) of the College of Medicine, University of Lagos (1993 -96) as well as former Deputy Vice Chancellor for Academic and Research in Lagos (2003 – 07). He has several decades of experience in teaching and research. He has supervised several MSc students and 10 PhD students. He has interest in Medical Education and has been involved in workshops on teaching and assessment techniques. He is also active in research and has published over 100 full length papers and several abstracts. His main research interest is in cardiovascular physiology and in particular, the mechanism of Salt induced Hypertension.  He is a member of the Physiological Society of Great Britain, American Physiological Society, Nigerian Physiological society and member of Council, African Association of Physiological Sciences, among others. He is a honorific Fellow of the Nigerian Academy of Sciences (FAS).
